This book is about:
"One day in November it was stormy at night and one of Old Sticky's branches falls down. Old Sticky is the chestnut tree in the middle of the town square.

In the morning, they find that the wooden bench under Old Sticky has been broken because the branch has fallen onto it.

Percival Pinkerton wants to cut the tree down and use it to make chairs, tables and cupboards. However, Tully and his friends link hands and climb into the tree to stop the workmen from cutting the tree down.

Mr. Pinkerton tells the children that he will not cut the tree down, so they come down from the tree and go home.

Tully hears a knock from Old Sticky on his window, so he opens the window and looks out. He sees that the workmen are trying to cut the tree down again. Tully climbs into Old Sticky to stop them. He makes Percival Pinkerton promise loudly to not cut the tree down. "

My favourite part of the book is
"When Mr. Humpage dances around his broom."

I would also like to say
"Old Sticky was very kind to help Tully to get down safely from the tree and Tully was kind to help to save Old Sticky. "

The main characters are
"Old Sticky, Percival Pinkerton, Tully and the children. "

This book is about:
"There's an old chestnut tree called Old Sticky. Mr. Pinkerton wants to cut her down to use as wooden furniture.

The children surround Old Sticky and climb into her, so that she cannot be cut down.

Mr. Pinkerton makes a promise not to cut the tree down, so the children climb down, but he then tries to later cut the tree down.

Tully realises what is happening and climbs out of his bedroom window onto Old Sticky. He makes Mr. Pinkerton make a truthful promise in front of everyone to say that he will not cut Old Sticky down.

"
