This book is about:
"Sally and Jake want to get rid of Aunt Mildred, because she doesn't let them have any fun. They put a plan into place to stop her coming to the house.

However, there is a storm. The lights go out, slates come of the roof, water is dripping from the ceiling and baby Arthur starts to cry. Sally and Jake go to Aunt Mildred's house to get help.

Aunt Mildred takes them home, gives them hot water bottles and reads them a story. Sally and Jake think that she is nicer now.

"Aunt Mildred is coming to look after Jake and Sally because their parents are going to a book sale. She makes them do exercises and go on long walks.

They try get rid of her by making a plan the next time she comes to babysit and do not let her into the house.

However, there is a storm and the rain manages to get through the ceiling. They try to 'phone Aunt Mildred, but the telephone does not work. They go into the woods near their house and Aunt Mildred's house. They find Aunt Mildred in the woods and she takes them home and looks after them.
