This book is about:
"Ditchley Rovers were in the Cup Final against Valley Kings. While practising, Flip the goalie falls over and breaks his nose. Baggy Shorts (who is dressed in baggy shorts, a green jersey and a flat, grey cap) appears from the mist. He tells Joss that he is a goalie.
At the Cup Final, Joss is put into goal and Ditchley Rovers are losing 0-2 to Valley Kings at half-time. Baggy Shorts turns up and convinces the team to let him be their goalie. He is brilliant! Ditchley Rovers win 3-2 in the end, but Baggy Shorts is nowhere to be seen at the end of the match.
A few days later, Joss' Dad is working on his cigarette cards of famous footballers and finds one of Billy Macworth (Baggy Shorts) who died in a car crash a few days before he was due to play at Wembley in the Cup Final of 1947.
